You start with a base capacity (e.g. 500 GB) and it grows automatically by a fixed amount each day (e.g. +1 GB/day). The longer you keep the service, the more storage you have.

Is the storage RAID-protected?

Yes. Our Big Storage plans use RAIDZ2, which can survive 2 simultaneous disk failures without data loss.
